| NEOTEL REGIONAL ACADEMIES |
| |
The Neotel cycling team has come a long way and over the past few years they have built a successful model, under the Team Exel banner, in getting their younger riders to reach their complete potential. Team Neotel’s management is looking to emulate this model and focus on up and coming youngsters and have therefore established two Regional Academies in the Western Cape.
After careful planning and observation the Western Cape was identified as the prime location to get the regional feeder team off the ground. Two of the areas well known clubs, Yorkshire and Rhadsport, are the first recipients of assistance provided by Neotel and their professional cycling team.
The assistance comes in the form of cycling clothing and a minor financial contribution that will go towards licensing of cyclists and administration costs. The clubs cater for junior riders, both male and female and their ethos and principles tie in with those of Neotel.
The Regional Academy set-up will focus on teaching young riders some of the fundamentals required for racing at the Professional level.
